  • What is EnSiGn?
EnSiGn is a governance-based software solution taking companies on a journey towards a compliant sustainability report that is ready for board approval and external assurance. EnSiGn is a product of FinReg Global Limited, developed with input from Subject Matter Experts and Solutions Designers from EisnerAmper Ireland.
  • How does EnSiGn support CSRD compliance?
EnSiGn is designed to be tightly aligned to the CSRD and ESRS reporting requirements. This approach simplifies the reporting requirements into a practical and easily navigable framework, providing comprehensive guidance throughout your reporting process. One practical way EnSiGn embeds our deep knowledge and assessment of the standards is by revealing only the relevant Datapoints based on prior answers, thus avoiding unnecessary 'n/a' responses. Every Datapoint is referenced to the relevant passage in the standards, establishing a clear connection and evidencing compliance directly. You have the option to view precisely which standard you are addressing through embedded links and pop-up boxes.
  • What ESG expertise do I need to use EnSiGn?
EnSiGn is designed to educate, enable and evidence your journey towards meeting your sustainability reporting requirements. The product provides a structured approach that is designed to guide users at each step, starting from an initial scoping exercise, and building up your knowledge of ESG topics as you work through the navigated process. Each section includes guidance, instructions and direct references to the relevant parts of the sustainability reporting standards. The user-friendly design and content, created by industry experts, makes it easy to follow and manage your progress towards building your ESG knowledge and Sustainability Reporting expertise.
  • How does EnSiGn address my organisation's carbon emissions?
EnSiGn is designed with a governance-based focus on meeting your sustainability reporting obligations. Your carbon footprint remains a critical component of sustainability reporting, but there is so much more to be covered: The ESRS standards require reporting entities to analyse and report on how sustainability topics are integrated into your corporate strategy, incentive programmes, and your governance, risk management, internal controls and reporting processes. Reporting entities must assess materiality accross 10 topical standards, and consider whether any additional industry-specific or entity-specific sustainability matters are relevant to their business. This analysis must be validated through a process of stakeholder engagement. For each material topical entities must report on their policies, actions and targets, and then quantify material impacts against prescribed metrics and report on progress over time. We have designed EnSiGn to guide you through this process, ensuring that every relevant datapoint is addressed. For several metrics, external data and calculations will inevitably be required. These supporting documents are linked or uploaded to evidence compliance with the specific datapoint requirements and provide a complete record and audit trail.
  • Does EnSiGn include a double materiality assessment?
EnSiGn includes a structured process for assessing impact materiality and finacial materiality. We developed this double materiality assessment process through a rigorous review of the CSRD and ESRS requirements, the guidance issued by EFRAG and our knowledge of market practice and input from leading sustainability consultants. This approach provides a robust yet simplified double materiality assessment and documentation process designed to guide you to identify the most significant sustainability matters for your sustainability report, in an audit ready manner. EnSiGn facilitates this assessment through 5 clearly defined steps: Understand your sustainability context Identify actual or potential sustainability matters Assess the materiality of impacts, risks and opportunities Consider the interests and view of stakeholders Determine the information to be reported
  • Will EnSiGn produce reports in iXBRL-tagged format?
All reports generated from EnSiGn have access to the XBRL tagging information. Every Datapoint in EnSiGn is linked to the relevant iXBRL tag defined in the EFRAG ESRS Taxonomy. This information is built into to the standard report templates and is available for your customised report templates. This enables automatically generating reports in human readable format and in machine-readable iXBRL-tagged format that complies with the official XBRL Taxonomy.
